About me

I'm Lisa Laughlin- a registered nurse with over 17 years of qualified nursing experience in the UK and Australia, in both acute and community settings. Since qualifying as a paediatric nurse I have studied at The University of Plymouth and The University of Tasmania where I have gained additional degrees in both Public Health and Oncology Nursing.

I have always valued additional and complementary therapies alongside conventional treatments to treat medical conditions; becoming a fan of acupuncture myself while in Australia when I received a course of acupuncture for a medical complaint. I also trained as a yoga teacher and then a pre/postnatal yoga teacher, which sparked my interest in women's health.

Fast forward to today and I am now a proud certified member of the British Medical Acupuncture Society (BMAS), having undertaken their gold standard medical acupuncture training for registered healthcare professionals. Being a member of BMAS means I have access to the most up-to-date and relevant health advice, support and evidence on acupuncture as well as NHS-based health advice through her registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and Royal College of Nursing (RCN) membership.

I have a special interest in providing medical acupuncture to help treat headache conditions and migraines, women's health and fertility, oncology treatment side-effects, and chronic pain conditions (e.g Fibromyalgia).

Reviews & Feedback

Hear It from Our Patients

"The next day both knees felt really good, like the pain went in both!! I went in the sea and down for a surf- I walked up and down big dunes and my knees felt fine! Really stoked with the result, thank you"

Patient- S. S

"The effectiveness of my 8 week treatment plan has spoke volumes. Within the first couple of weeks my migraine felt like more of a headache, and from week 3 until now I have not suffered any migraines or headaches [9 weeks]. I am going to continue this journey with Lisa and would highly recommend anyone who suffers from migraines or any other type of debilitating pain to try medical acupuncture".

Patient- R. M

"I always look forward to my weekly acupuncture treatments with Lisa. Nothing else can help me to relax the way that I can with one of Lisa's medical acupuncture sessions. During one of my treatments for chronic migraine a headache was stopped during the treatment while I relaxed".
